International Women’s Day Networking Reception

The British High Commission, together with the British Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the British Council and UKWA, hosted a reception highlighting women in leadership. MP Yeo Bee Yin, speaker of the reception, inspired the audience with her political journey, noting that only 13% of Malaysia’s Parliament comprises women and urging aspiring female leaders to rise to the challenge. She credited male allies who opened doors and senior female politicians who offered guidance as key to her career. CALM was represented at the reception by President Yap Li Ling.
